Campaigns at the Mental Health Foundation

As an independent charity, our campaigns aim to:

 

  • push mental health up the political and social agenda
  • raise awareness of mental health issues in the media 
  • work to influence civil servants and politicians at a national level

 

Loneliness and mental health

Every year the Mental Health Foundation launches a campaign to get people talking about mental health. This year, we're focusing on loneliness. Find out more.

 

Be Mindful

Be Mindful is a campaign to raise awareness about the benefits of mindfulness. Learn about the benefits of mindfulness meditation and how you can get involved. Find out more.

 

Research Mental Health

The Mental Health Foundation and the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London are working together with the help of scientists, academics, public figures - and you - to promote the importance of mental health research in the UK. Find out more.

 

Mental Health Action Week 

Our annual diary event to campaign on an issue that is related to the mental health of the general population.

 

 

World Mental Health Day

An international annual activity which we use to campaign for better mental health 

 

 

We have also had one off campaigns, such as:

 

  • Food and Mental Health - a campaign to change behaviour to increase the use of diet in the care, treatment and promotion of mental health.

We also campaign with other charities to give ourselves a bigger voice, including:

 

  • Self Harm Inquiry - a campaign to develop better and more appropriate responses to young people who self-harm.  
  • We Need to Talk -  a campaign consisting of 5 leading mental health organisations calling for an increased investment in and wider access to psychological therapies on the NHS.
