Boiling Point Event - Tuesday 25 March 2008

High striker on the South Bank

As part of Mental Health Action Week, the Mental Health Foundation invited people to let off steam to raise awareness about problem anger and the impact it can have on emotional and physical health, as well as on daily life.

People were able to take out their frustrations safely on a 21 foot high-striker. People were also able to pick up a free information booklet about anger and how to deal with it

Staff from the Mental Health Foundation spoke to a few thousand members of the general public about Mental Health Action Week and many people had fun having a go on the high-striker.

More about anger

We all get angry. It's one of the most basic and powerful human emotions. Most of us deal with anger in a healthy way.

But for some of us anger can sometimes become a problem. Problem anger has been linked to a range of physical, mental health and social problems.
