Immerse yourself in ancient Peruvian culture and trek along one of the world’s most stunning trails.

 

Experience diverse scenery such as tropical Andean rainforests, the snow-capped mountain ranges of the Andes and of course Machu Picchu, one of the worlds most important archaeological finds.

Itinerary:

 

  • DAY 1: Fly London – Lima, overnight in Lima
  • DAY 2: Fly Lima – Cusco. Time to acclimatise in Cusco and gently explore this historic city 
  • DAY 3: Cusco; Tambo Machay acclimatisation walk, you will pass some of the amazing Inca sites as you walk down to Sacsayhuaman
  • DAY 4: Cusco – Totora – Quisuarani. Trek through a wonderful canyon along an old inca trail, gradually twisting upwards tonight you will camp under snow-capped peaks
  • DAY 5: Quisuarani- Huchayccassa pass - Bluff.  Trek past alpacas high in the mountains, with a fantastic view down to turquoise lakes and peaks in the distance. 
  • DAY 6: Bluff- Laguna Ipsayccocha Patacancha.  Today the track leads to a beautiful waterfall and climbs out of the valley towards several small lakes, gradually descends through small villages
  • DAY 7: Patacancha – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes.  Leave camp early and arrive at Machu Picchu, afterwards there is an opportunity to bathe in the hot springs. 
  • DAY 8: Free day in Cusco, Celebration dinner
  • DAY 9: Return Cusco – Lima; connect with the international flight to London.
  • DAY 10: Arrive London
