In Celebration giving for the Mental Health Foundation

Celebrating something in 2009?

Do you have a special birthday, anniversary around the corner? Why not take part in Celebration giving?

This is a postive and unique way of supporting the Mental Health Foundation whilst celebrating a special occasion.

It is very simple to do.  Just let us know that you would like to ask your friends and family to make a donation to the Mental Health Foundation instead of receiving traditional presents and we can support you every step of the way.

Jenny and Tom Noble celebrate their diamond jubilee

Jess Noble’s grandparents, Jenny & Tom Noble, recently celebrated their Diamond Wedding.

They were married on Christmas Day 1948 – at the time, Christmas Day was not a holiday in Scotland and they took the opportunity of marking their special day on a special day!

At the beginning of 2009, Jess, who has bi-polar depression, travelled to Glenrothes in Fife from her home in Alton, Hampshire with her three sisters and parents to attend their Diamond Wedding party celebrations.

Her grandparents requested their guests not to give presents, but to use the money to donate to three chosen charities, of which the Mental Health Foundation was one.

The total amount donated to the Mental Health Foundation by the guests was a splendid £235.

This is also a particularly apt gesture, given that the Mental Health Foundation are celebrating their Diamond Jubilee at the same time as Jess’s grandparents their Diamond Anniversary!
