Mental Health Foundation appoints new Head of Research

The Mental Health Foundation has appointed Dr Kamaldeep Dhillon as the new Head of Research, to replace Iain Ryrie. Kam, who is due to begin work at the Foundation at the beginning of December 2006, will head up the charity’s five-strong research team.

 

Kam comes from the Sainsbury Centre for Mental Health where he was a Senior Research Fellow for two years. Prior, Kam worked in the Department of Psychiatry at Queen Mary University of London and has worked in the mental healthcare field for more than thirteen years as a clinician, researcher, lecturer and manager in statutory and non-stationary organisations.

 

Kam, who is also a registered clinician and supervisor of psychotherapy and counselling, said:

 

“I am delighted to join The Mental Health Foundation. Serving the research team that’s addressing the significant issues in mental health will be an exciting challenge and I am looking forward to it.”

 

Dr Andrew McCulloch, Chief Executive of the charity said;

 

“We are looking forward to working with Kam who has a solid research background and clinical expertise.”
