News Release, 12 May 2008
On 26 May, the Chief Executive of the Mental Health Foundation will run the BUPA London 10,000 to raise money for the charity, which helps people whose lives have been affected by mental illness. Andrew McCulloch, who in six years has helped to grow the charity and its influence, said:
“I decided to take part in the BUPA London 10,000 because I want to exercise my leadership in fundraising. Our supporters have been very inspiring and I wanted to show my appreciation by taking part in the race. I ran the Great North Run last year, which was a huge challenge for me. It is now my intention to take part in a race every year."
The Mental Health Foundation is one of the UK’s leading mental health charities and is well known for its campaign to increase the availability of exercise on prescription for people with depression.
Andrew is a member of the Ministerial Advisory Group on Mental Health, a mental health adviser to NESTA and an expert advisor to the Council of Europe. He has worked in the voluntary sector for over ten years and has more than 30 years of policy development experience.
