Mental Health Foundation appoints new Head of Corporate and Events Fundraising

25 June 2008

Cheryl Armitage is the new Head of Corporate and Events Fundraising at the Mental Health Foundation, replacing Jayne Cromwell who has been promoted to Head of Supporter Fundraising.

Armitage, who joins the Foundation after 11 years at Asthma UK, said:

“This is an exciting challenge for me and I’m looking forward to expanding the way in which the Foundation works in partnership with companies. Organisations may not normally think to support a mental health charity but the Foundation can work together with companies in a number of different ways, and has a lot to offer HR managers who are keen to look after the welfare of their staff regarding employee mental health and wellbeing.”

According to the Mental Health Foundation, the leading mental health research charity in the UK:

  • Stress, anxiety and depression accounted for a third of the 168 million days lost in the UK for health and related reasons in 2004, translating to a cost of £4.1billion.

  • Each case of stress-related ill health leads to an average of 30 working days lost.
