Research at the Mental Health Foundation

We research and evaluate all sorts of ways of helping people with mental health problems to find out which are the most useful, effective and popular. We also look out for new ways of treating and caring for people with mental health problems.

We tackle problems and issues which are often neglected, including good mental health and serious mental health problems, children and young people and people in later life. Much of our work applies to people of all age groups.

  • We often do our research in partnership with other organisations

  • We use research findings to inform our policy and service development work, and we tell the world about our findings through our campaigns, information and regular contact with national and specialist media

  • The research team is also committed to communicating findings through in-house, peer review and professional publications

You can find all our current research in this section. Our past research projects have been turned into reports you can download. You can find these in Publications.

We also often ask visitors to our website to tell us about their opinions and experiences of mental health issues. Find out more about the current online surveys.
